This app is intended for use by physicians, trainees, and other healthcare professionals involved in the clinical workup of primary aldosteronism (PA). It is not intended for use by laypersons, patients, or the general public, and should not be used to self-diagnose or self-manage any condition.
Clinical use disclaimer
This tool is intended to assist clinicians with the workup of primary aldosteronism (PA). It does not replace clinical judgement. Results should be interpreted as one input alongside a full clinical assessment, including patient history, physical examination, review of relevant laboratory and imaging testing, additional testing as indicated, and the treating clinician's own expertise and judgement. This app does not make, and should not be interpreted as making, any recommendation or endorsement regarding specific tests, referrals, management strategies, or other opinions about patient care — all such decisions remain solely the responsibility of the treating clinician.
Standards of practice may change
This app was created in September 2026, based on the Endocrine Society 2025 Primary Aldosteronism Clinical Practice Guideline available at that time. Clinical standards, evidence, and guidelines evolve as new data becomes available. Users are responsible for staying current with the latest standards of practice in their jurisdiction and specialty, and for confirming that the information in this app has not been superseded.
Beta software
This application is in beta. It may contain errors, and the calculations or guidance it provides may be incomplete or incorrect. The developers take no responsibility for outcomes arising from its use. Clinicians use this tool entirely at their own discretion and remain responsible for verifying all inputs, outputs, and clinical decisions independently.
No liability
This app and its creator assume no liability for any medical decisions made, or actions taken, by any user as a result of using this tool. The service is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, and is used entirely at the user's own risk.
Acceptable use
We reserve the right to delete your account or prohibit your use of this app if it is used to: harm others, or assist others in harming people; damage or disrupt the service; upload viruses or other malicious code intended to cause damage to the app; or modify, edit, copy, reproduce, create derivative works of, reverse engineer, alter, or enhance the app in any way.
No patient information is collected
This app does not collect, store, or transmit any patient-identifiable information. Values entered into the ARR or AVS calculators (e.g. lab results, hormone levels) are processed only in your browser to generate a result and are not saved to our servers.
Information we collect about you
To create and manage your account, we collect: your name, email address, and password; your country, province/state, and city; your profession and specialty; your practice type; your hospital and, if applicable, academic institution; and your approximate monthly volume of PA workups. We also log which calculator (ARR or AVS) you use and when, so we can understand how the tool is being used.
Website analytics
We use Google Analytics (through Google Firebase) to understand how visitors find and use AldoCalc — for example, pages viewed, approximate location (city/region level), device and browser type, how long visits last, and how often each calculator is used. Google Analytics uses cookies and similar browser storage to tell visits apart. This information is not linked to your name, email, or profile, and it never includes values entered into the calculators. Google processes this data on our behalf and may do so outside Canada. You can opt out with Google's browser add-on (tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout) or by using a browser setting or extension that blocks tracking; the app works normally either way.

How it's stored
Your account information is stored with Google Firebase, our database and authentication provider, protected in transit (HTTPS) and at rest. Your profile and usage records are stored in Google Cloud's Toronto, Canada data centre; your sign-in credentials (email and password) are managed by Firebase Authentication, which may process them outside Canada. We do not sell your information, and we do not share it with third parties except as needed to operate the service (e.g. our hosting provider).
Staying signed in
If you check "Remain logged in on this device," a session token is stored in your browser's local storage so you don't need to sign in again on that device. If you don't check this box, you'll be signed out when you close the app. You can sign out manually at any time.
Your rights
You may delete your account and all associated data at any time from within the app ("Delete account" button), which permanently removes your profile and usage records. You may also contact us to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your information.
Changes to this statement
If this statement changes materially, we'll ask you to review and re-accept it the next time you sign in.
